The idea to found Ístækni arose in the autumn months of 2023. Ístækni ehf is founded by former employees of 3xTechnology together with other interested people. The group responsible for Ístækni wants to protect the knowledge and experience that is present in Ísafjörður in creating and producing equipment for the marine and food industries. Soon after the idea of ​​founding Ístækni came up, it was decided to invite Vélsmiðjan Þristur in Ísafjörður to be a part of Ístækni. Vélsmiðjan Þristur has served the marine industry in Westfjords for 40 years and has earned a good reputation for being an excellent service company. At the end of last year, Vélsmiðjan Þristur became a part of Ístækni ehf. At Ístækni ehf, around 23 employees work in production and service, and the activities are mainly divided into a sliding workshop, technical department, electrical equipment department, production department, service department and sales department. Ístækni has excellent solutions for the automation of vessel systems, cooling, translation, pumping and transportation of products for processing, together with solutions for intermediate decks in ships. Ístækni wants to maintain the values ​​of delivering the best possible results for the customer, making quality products and providing excellent service.
