How Ístækni ehf. processes personal data in connection with job applications.

1. Data Controller

Ístækni ehf., Sindragata 7, 400 Ísafjörður, Iceland, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at +354 450 6000 or istaekni@istaekni.com.

2. What Information Is Collected?

When you apply for a position through this website, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Icelandic personal ID number (kennitala)
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • CV (file)

3. Purpose and Legal Basis

The information is used solely to process and evaluate your job application at Ístækni. Processing is based on your consent, given when you submit the application, cf. Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Icelandic Data Protection Act no. 90/2018.

4. Storage and Deletion

Your application is delivered to us by email. It is not stored in any database and no database of applicants is kept on the website. The email containing your application and CV is kept in our mailbox for a maximum of 6 months, after which it is deleted unless it leads to employment or you give further consent.

5. Processors and Security

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which transmits applications as a data processor on our behalf. Data is transmitted encrypted (TLS) and is not disclosed to third parties for any other purpose.

6. Your Rights

You have the right at any time to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you,
  • request rectification or deletion of your data,
  • withdraw your consent,
  • object to processing and request restriction.

7. Complaints to the Supervisory Authority

If you believe our processing of your personal data violates the law, you may lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd), Rauðarárstíg 10, 105 Reykjavík, www.personuvernd.is.
